About American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Course
Become certified to teach life-saving skills with the American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Course. This blended learning course is designed to train instructor candidates to effectively teach basic-level First Aid, CPR, and AED courses to others, empowering communities with critical emergency response knowledge.
This course combines online content, a precourse skills session, and in-person classroom instruction to provide a well-rounded and flexible learning experience. All online materials must be completed prior to the in-person training. Once registered, participants will receive an email confirmation with important information and an attachment outlining the steps to prepare for the course. A second, more detailed email will follow two weeks prior to the course with final instructions and requirements.
To participate in this course, you must:

Be at least 16 years old by the last day of the course

Hold a current American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED (or higher) certification, or equivalent
Throughout the program, candidates will learn how to:

Deliver high-quality instruction in First Aid/CPR/AED

Evaluate student performance and provide corrective feedback

Facilitate engaging, hands-on learning experiences

Administer Red Cross course materials and follow national standards
Upon successful completion, participants will earn a First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certification from the American Red Cross, valid for 2 years.
