This course follows a Blended Learning format, combining online content with in-person classroom and practical skills sessions. The online portion must be completed before attending the in-person training. Candidates will receive the online access link after registration. Two weeks prior to the course, a detailed informational packet will be emailed with instructions and requirements to ensure you’re prepared for the in-person sessions.

Prerequisites:

• Minimum age: 17 years

• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certification

• Successful completion of the online session for the Lifeguarding Instructor course

• Completion of the in-person precourse session, which includes in-water and classroom assessments

Throughout the course, instructor candidates will learn how to deliver Red Cross course content effectively, manage classroom and pool environments, evaluate participants’ skills and knowledge, and maintain the high standards of the American Red Cross training programs.

Upon successful completion, participants will earn an official American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor certification valid for two years. Certified instructors are authorized to teach and certify individuals in the full suite of Lifeguarding-related courses listed above.
