Water Safety Instructor Prep Course

$0.00

Are you enrolled or thinking of enrolling in our American Red Cross Blended Learning Water Safety Instructor course but not sure if you can pass the pre-course test, have not been in the water swimming for a while, or just want some perfection on your higher level strokes? During this course, you will practice all skills necessary for the assessment given on the first day of the American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Program.

The pre-course consists of the following:

  • Swim the following strokes consistent with Level 4:
    • Front Crawl, Back Crawl, Breaststroke, Elementary Backstroke, Sidestroke – 25 yards
    • Butterfly – 15 yards
  • Back float for 1 minute (floating or sculling)
  • Tread water for 1 minute

This is also open to non-WSI people looking for higher-level stroke refinement and is a great way to reintroduce yourself to the water and help get you back into consistent swimming that you want to do or have done in the past but took a break from. We do this optional course which gets people prepared for the strokes needed for the American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor course. Included is a swim cap to keep for use in our course or for your leisure.

This prep course is 1 hour and 30 minutes.
